This quick two-day tour takes you to Mikumi, the closest national park from Dar es Salaam.
Mikumi offers you the quintessential savannah wide open spaces, with lots of lions, giraffes and elephants. It's perfect if you're looking for a great safari experience that fits into a weekend and that's easy on the wallet.
Mikumi is also the easiest park to reach in the rainy season - it is the only year-around park in the South.
Itinerary
This is how we think you should do your Mikumi quickie, but we're open to suggestions.
Day 1
Early morning departure from Dar es Salaam, arrival in Mikumi around noon. Afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight at Tanapa bandas inside the park.
Day 2
Early morning game drive in the park before breakfast, another go before lunch. After lunch return to Dar to arrive in the evening.
