Selous vast game reserve is only around 4 hours from Dar es Salaam, and is perfect for your weekend safari. Selous' scenery is astonishing with its green and lush landscape, hippo ponds and large number of giraffes, zebras, elephants and lions.
Here you can also do both boat safaris and walking safaris for a bit more excitement.
Tour
You can tailor your weekend tour anyway you like, but this is how we would do it:
Day 1
Early morning or midday departure from Dar es Salaam. Boat safari in Rufiji river upon arrival (if departure early morning), overnight and dinner at the camp or lodge.
Day 2
Full day game drive in Selous game reserve
Day 3
Early morning walking safari with an experienced guide and ranger, after breakfast return to Dar es Salaam
